The HMS Huron Destroyer was a Tribal-class Royal Canadian Navy Destroyer built by Vickers-Armstrongs, Newcastle upon Tyne. The destroyer was laid down on April 27th, 1940, launched on June 25th, 1940, and commissioned on July 28th, 1943, but recommissioned in 1950. The Hurn destroyer was equipped with modified ventilation and heating systems for the North Atlantic winter service. The destroyer of this class could yield speeds of up to 42mph (36.5 knots) and, during WWII, served as the mighty escort ship for most of the Royal Navy's ships, continuing its service during the Cold War and the Korean War. With over 260 parts, this model kit faithfully recreates the HMS Huron Destroyer from 1944 on a 1/350 scale. The fully assembled model is 32.8cm long.
