Marketing Manager (Full time or part time)

Notting Hill & Melbourne CBD, Vic


As a Marketing Specialist at Metro Hobbies, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, in-store promotions, and events. Your goal will be to drive brand awareness, increase customer engagement, and generate sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns that align with business goals and target diverse hobby audiences (model kits, RC, model trains, etc.).
  • Manage and grow Metro Hobbies' social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) through creative content, engagement, and follower growth.
  • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns, including product launches, sales promotions, and special offers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create in-store promotional materials, digital ads, and website content.
  • Monitor campaign performance and analyze data to make informed decisions and improve results.
  • Stay up-to-date with hobby industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for Metro Hobbies.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a constantly changing work environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in retail or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce, digital marketing, social media management, and email marketing.
  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills with attention to detail.
  • Creative thinker who is adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for our hobbies is a plus!

Divisional Managers (Full time or Part Time)

Notting Hill & Melbourne CBD, Vic

We’re seeking an assistant retail divisional managers for our both our Melbourne CBD and Notting Hill retail stores.

You’ll work closely with the leadership team to help drive the successful operation of the division within the store and the business as a whole. You will lead by example and display the same exemplary attitudes and behaviours that is expected from everyone in the team.  You will have in-depth product knowledge on one the following divisions:

  • Radio controlled - Notting Hill
  • Model Rail (including in-depth knowledge of DCC) - Melbourne CBD
  • Tabletop Gaming - Melbourne CBD
  • Model kit building & techniques - Melbourne CBD

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring we maintain the best in-store and on-line customer experience possible, staying up to date with new releases and communicating this to customers. This includes, but certainly isn’t limited to, ensuring a high standard of customer service, merchandising, cleanliness, inventory control, managing store operations and guidance on website content.

Requirements

  • An enthusiast or expert in your field.
  • Able to deliver and maintain our exceptional customer service standards in store.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, delegate, develop and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build a rapport with customers.
  • Strong organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Merchandising skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ideally you have previous experience in a retail management position.
  • Strong IT and MS Excel skills is essential.
  • Comfortable communicating to customers both in store & on-line.
  • And most importantly you’re just as passionate as we are about hobbies!
