Trumpeter 01043 1/35 Russian 30N6E Flaplid Radar System

30N6E Flap Lid is a modern, Russian, multi-functional mobile radar. Originally, radars of this type worked with specially adapted Ural-357, KrAZ-255 or KrAZ-260 trucks. Currently, the radar is mounted on the chassis of the 8-wheel heavy truck MAZ-7930. The 30N6E Flap Lid radar is used for fire control and target detection for SA-10 Grumble missiles (S-300 system). The radar is able to detect targets at a distance of 300 kilometers and simultaneously direct the missile fire towards 6 air targets, while two missiles can be aimed at one target at the same time. The 30N6E Flap Lid is assumed to be highly immune to enemy electronic interference and countermeasures. Confirmed information indicates that the maximum tilt angle of the radar antenna in the elevation was 50 degrees, but probably this value was raised to 75 degrees. The radar in azimuth, on the other hand, can scan the area from 60 to 100 degrees. In principle, the 30N6E Flap Lid radar is similar to the American AN / MPQ-53, the same radar used in the Patriot system.
