The Panzer VIII Maus was a super-heavy tank designed by Germany for World War II. It was armed with a 128mm KwK44 L55 main gun and a 75mm KWK L36.5 secondary gun coaxial with the main gun, and the entire vehicle was covered with 240-60mm of armor. The Maus super-heavy tank used an experimental electric drive system, but considering its 188-ton weight, its speed was only 18 kilometers per hour.

Only two prototypes of the Maus tank were produced during World War II. They were used by the German military for various tests during the war but were not used in actual combat. They were captured by the Soviet army before the end of the war. However, both prototypes were damaged to varying degrees by the German army, which meant that the turret of the second prototype was installed on the chassis of the first prototype and sent back to the Soviet Union for testing. In 1952, after the Soviet army completed the testing of the assembled Maus tank, it was transported to the Kubinka Tank Museum for permanent display.
