The Kiha 58 series is an express diesel car of the Japanese National Railways that was introduced in 1961. The KiRo 28 series is a green car equipped with one engine, and the 100 series for long formations was equipped with air conditioning from the beginning of production, and the 2100 series was equipped with an air conditioning power supply unit that could supply power to other cars. Green cars had a light green class band under the window, but with the change in painting regulations in 1978, the class band was abolished, and cars that entered inspection gradually began to have no class band.
