Revell 1/50 Viking Ship Model Set

From the late 8th century onward, Vikings from Scandinavia regularly appeared in Great Britain and on the European mainland with their longships, conducting raids. These seaworthy warships, around 20 meters long, had a bow at both the front and the stern, allowing them to enter and leave waterways from either direction. Thanks to their shallow draft of just under 1.5 meters, the Vikings could also sail or row on rivers, thus raiding areas deep inland. With these warships, also known as dragons, which could reach speeds of around 20 knots and were highly maneuverable, the Vikings penetrated as far as Iceland, Greenland, and even North America, as evidenced by archaeological finds.
