The Mk.15 is a surface-mounted anti-ship attack torpedo used by the U.S. Navy during World War II. This long-range torpedo was one of the main torpedoes of the U.S. Navy during the war, along with the Mk.13 and Mk.14 torpedoes. About 9,700 of the Mk.15 were produced.

Like the Mk.14, the early version of the Mk.15 had problems with adjusting depth and magnetic fuze, but there were few surface battles in the Pacific War, and it was difficult to distinguish the outcome of battles due to the bombardment. However, in the night battle of Bella Bay in August 1943, defects such as the fact that it often didn't detonate even when it scored a hit were discovered, and the decision was made to improve it.
