The BAC One-Eleven (another designation: BAC 1-11) was a British-made twin-engine low-wing all-metal airliner. The drive in the basic version (Series 200) was provided by two Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines. The prototype flight took place in 1963. Serial production was carried out in Great Britain in 1963-1982, while license production in Romania in 1982-1989. About 240 aircraft of this type were built in its course.

One-Eleven was developed at the British Aircraft Corporation based on the Hunting H.107 prototype aircraft. However, research and development work on the new aircraft was prolonged due to the modernization of engines and the continuous expansion of the passenger compartment of the new aircraft. Ultimately, BAC One-Eleven could carry up to 119 passengers. In the course of serial production, several development versions were created, among which it is worth mentioning: BAC One-Eleven Series 200 (first production series), Series 300 (machine powered by other modernized Spey engines), Series 400 (version intended for the American market) or Series 500 ( version with an extended hull).
