The Model T, also known as the “Tin Lizzie,” was a passenger car produced by the Ford Motor Company from 1908 to 1927. Over 15 million units of this model were manufactured, with the first one rolling off the production line on September 27, 1908, at the Detroit, Michigan plant. It was equipped with a 2.9-liter, four-cylinder engine and a two-speed transmission. One of the key features of this car was the introduction of assembly line manufacturing, replacing the individual handcrafting process. The Model T was produced in the millions and was affordable for many middle-class Americans. In terms of comfort and technical specifications, the Model T was on par with other similar cars of its time, while being notably distinguished by its reliability and durability. The car was also very affordable (the initial price was $825–850, and by 1916 it had dropped to $350), which, combined with its successful features, contributed to its huge success in the market. The car was available in numerous variations, with different body types. There were also special versions, such as cars for transporting small loads, and some vehicles were converted into fire trucks.
