The NASA AD-1 was an experimental aircraft that made its first flight in 1979.

Its uniquely oblique wing could pivot in flight from 0 degrees to 60 degrees, and NASA conducted 79 demonstration flights using the aircraft.

By its final flight in 1982, the AD-1 had provided extensive data on the flight characteristics of a rotating wing and the aerodynamic properties at varying sweep angles.
