The Hornet is a twin-engine, single-seat fighter aircraft developed by the British de Havilland Air Force and used by the Royal Air Force after the end of World War II.

This wooden aircraft, descended from the DH Mosquito, boasted the highest speed of any British-made reciprocating engine aircraft. They were not ready for deployment in time for World War II, and were deployed in the Far East after the war.
