The Wellesley is a Vickers bombing/reconnaissance aircraft that was officially adopted by the Royal Air Force in 1935 before World War II, and was the first military aircraft to adopt Vickers' unique global structure as a mass-produced aircraft. It is also famous as the aircraft that set the world record for 48 hours of non-landing flight, over 11,500km between Egypt and Australia in 1938. By the beginning of World War II, it was already obsolete, but it was used as a reconnaissance aircraft on the North African Campaign until 1941. Mass-production of the Wellesley began in 1937, and by 1938, 176 had been built. This machine is a single-engine monoplane with a metal frame, a high aspect ratio and low wings. It was equipped with two 7.7mm machine guns and was able to mount a 905kg bomb on the underwing pod.
This kit includes decals for two Royal Air Force versions: 45th Squadron and 76th Squadron.
Approximately 16.6cm long, 31.6cm wingspan when completed
