Trumpeter 01506 1/35 Canadian Husky 6x6 APC

The AVGP Husky is a modern Canadian wheeled maintenance vehicle. The car was introduced to the line in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1976. AVGP Husky is powered by an engine Detroit Diesel Allison 6V-53T diesel engine with 267 HP. It is armed with a single 7.62 mm machine gun.

In the 1960s, the Canadian army needed to find a replacement for the M113 Lynx, which was used extensively in United Nations missions in which Canada participated. Ultimately, the AVGP Cougar turned out to be such a vehicle. At the same time, with the entry into the line of the new reconnaissance vehicle, there was a need to create a dedicated technical protection vehicle, which was just AVGP Husky. It was based on the chassis of the Swiss Piranha I 6x6 wheeled armored personnel carrier. However, the truck was - unlike the original - equipped with a crane with a lifting capacity of up to 4.5 tons and a winch with a lifting capacity of up to 8 tons. The vehicle has the ability to overcome water obstacles without special preparation, and the drive in the water is provided by two thrusters.
