Trumpeter 02299 1/32 Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4

The Bf-109E was the first German 109 series aircraft to be mass-produced. It has often been mistakenly referred to as a Me-109. The abbreviation, “Bf”, stands for Bayerische Flugzeugwerke or, in English, "Bavarian Aircraft Works". In 1938, Messerschmitt attained the Bavarian Aircraft Works, but the Bf-109E kept the "Bf" registration. At the end of 1939, the Bf-109E replaced the other 109 versions in service and equipped thirteen Gruppens (40 Bf-109Es each). The aircraft served as the primary single-engine fighter until the arrival of the Fw-190. The "K" model was improved with the DB605D engine and was the fastest Bf-109 to enter production. This model recreates the Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 with three different markings. This 1/32 scale kit, when finished, is 28.3cm long and has a wingspan of 30.8cm.
