Trumpeter 02416 1/24 Hurricane MK.II C/Trop

The British Hawker Hurricane was a single-engine fighter aircraft that served with the RAF during WWII. The fighter featured a mono-wing with landing gear that could retract and an enclosed cockpit, all technological advancements when they were introduced. The Hurricane entered service in late 1937 with the Royal Air Force 111th Squadron. Though not as famous as its counterpart due to the success of the Spitfire, it is estimated that roughly eighty percent of the 1,792 German planes shot down during the Battle of Britain were due to the Hawker Hurricane. Fourteen thousand five hundred thirty-three hurricanes were produced in many variants. The Mk.II D variant was equipped as a tankbuster, two 40mm anti-tank guns, and two 7.7mm guns. This model authentically replicates the Hurricane Mk.II C in Tropical variant. The kit contains 233 parts and two optional markings; the finished model is 40.8cm long and 50.8cm wide.
