Trumpeter 07415 1/72 US Cougar 4x4 Mrap

The Cougar 4x4 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle is a highly specialized armored fighting vehicle developed to combat the threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and landmines, especially during the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. As a Category I MRAP, it is built around a signature V-shaped hull design. This most critical feature redirects blast energy up and away from the crew compartment to maximize survivability. The vehicle accommodates two crew members and four troops in blast-attenuating seats, prioritizing the safety of its occupants over offensive capability. Powered by a Caterpillar C-7 diesel engine, the 4×4 Cougar offers good mobility and a maximum on-road speed of about 105 km/h (65 mph). It can be fitted with roof-mounted weapon systems, such as the CROWS II remote weapon station, to provide self-defense and convoy security.
