Trumpeter 01079 1/35 KET-T Recovery Vehicle based on MAZ-537 Heavy Truck

The KET-T is a heavy-duty recovery vehicle. It was developed based on the MAZ-537 8×8 heavy tractor. This recovery vehicle is equipped with specialized recovery equipment. It entered service with the Soviet Army in the 1960s. Despite its age, the KET-T continues to serve in the armies of Russia and several other countries.

The primary purpose of the KET-T is to rescue 8x8 military vehicles that have broken down, overturned, become stuck, or are trapped. The KET-T can also be used for vehicle maintenance or to tow disabled vehicles to a repair area.

This heavy-duty rescue vehicle is equipped with a winch with a 15-ton traction capacity and a 100-meter-long towing cable, which, when combined with pulleys, provides a traction force of 46 tons. The maximum traction force can reach 80 tons. The rescue winch can be deployed on a specially designed gantry. This gantry can be used with a rigid tow bar to tow disabled vehicles. Two support legs at the rear are used to stabilize the vehicle during rescue operations, and the extended gantry can also provide a lifting capacity of 1.5 tons. The vehicle is also equipped with welding and cutting equipment for auxiliary use during rescue operations.
