Tomix 9019 N 9019 SAHA 481 (489) With AU13

The 485 series was introduced in 1968 as a limited express train compatible with three power sources, DC and AC 50/60Hz, based on the previously introduced 481 and 483 series, and was manufactured for a long period until 1979, and was active in electrified sections nationwide as a representative limited express train of JNR.

The 489 series was introduced in 1971 as a train based on the 485 series, with measures to pass through the Shinetsu Main Line between Yokokawa and Karuizawa. The Saha 481 and 489 types have the same body as the Moha 485 and 489 types, and were used as trailer cars in long formations. The cars manufactured from 1972 were changed from the AU12 cooler, also known as the mushroom type, to the distributed AU13 cooler.
