Tomix N E231-500 Yamanote Line 1st Generation Addon Set 3 Cars

The E231-500 series is a train that began commercial operation in April 2002 to replace the 205 series prior to the introduction of D-ATC on the Yamanote Line.

This car is the first JR train in the Tokyo metropolitan area to use LCD screens as information devices, and they are installed above each door.

In addition, as a measure to alleviate congestion, the six-door car that was previously attached to car 10 will now also be attached to car 7, meaning that there are now two six-door cars in the train.

Starting in 2010, with the installation of platform fences at each station, the existing six-door cars were replaced, and cars 7 and 10 were fitted with newly manufactured four-door cars, the SaHa E231 series.

Starting with the introduction of the new E235 series trains in 2015, these cars began to be transferred to the Chuo and Sobu lines, and all of them had been replaced by January 2020.
