Tomix N JR C57 Steam Locomotive No. 180

The C57 type was a passenger steam locomotive that succeeded the C55 type, and was in service until the retirement of JNR steam locomotives in December 1975.

During the time of the Japanese National Railways, No. 180 was mainly active on the Uetsu Main Line and Ban'etsu West Line, and after its retirement it was preserved at Niitsu Daiichi Elementary School. However, it was restored to its vehicle register in 1999 and is currently in service on the "SL Ban'etsu Monogatari" on the Ban'etsu West Line.

When the ATS-P, which was not originally equipped, was newly installed, the ATS generator was replaced with a larger one, a front snowplow was installed year-round, and from April 2024, the smoke chamber handle was replaced and the decorations on the chimney and other parts were removed, resulting in changes to the appearance.
