Tomix 98517 N E231-1000 Tokaido Refresh Addon Set 6 cars

The E231 series is a commuter and suburban train developed by JR East and is in operation on various DC sections in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The E231 series, which belongs to the Kozu Rolling Stock Center, began commercial operation in 2004 with the aim of replacing the 113 series.

The basic 10-car formation has two double-decker green cars attached.

Since its introduction, it has been in operation over a wide area from the northern Kanto area to the southern Kanto area via the Shonan-Shinjuku Line. It is also in operation with the E233 series on the Ueno-Tokyo Line, which opened in 2015.

From 2020, VVVF inverter equipment, SIV power supply equipment, etc. have been gradually updated, and the appearance of some of the underfloor equipment has changed.
