Robotime Industrial City Da Vinci Ornithopter

Da Vinci's ornithopter now comes as a steam-powered concept through this 156-piece ROKR 3D puzzle. This model is part of the Industrial City Series and can be activated by a 2.4GHz wireless connection or a 6-way power hub.

No man could manually power Da Vinci's initial concept of the ornithopter, but that problem is solved with ROKR's steam-driven mechanical depiction. Staying true to Da Vinci's design, the ROKR Ornithopter features flapping wings and a representation of a twin-cylinder engine housed beneath a transparent cover. As the pistons pump in alternating rhythm, it drives the crankshaft and flaps the wings. Below it stands a tower structure that houses the main engine, feeds steam up to the Ornithopter, lights up the dark with its own glowing beacon, and provides ladder access so the mechanism can be maintained at height. An anemometer-inspired rotor tracks wind speed and direction, monitoring conditions before flight. The ROKR Ornithopter is part of the Industrial City Series, a collection of mechanical inventions celebrated for their genius and impact on modern technology.
