Kato C11 171 Steam Locomotive

In 1994, GE delivered the first AC4400CW locomotive, their answer to EMD’s successful SD70MAC. Nearly 10 years later, the AC4400CW has become one of the most successful locomotives in the history of North American railroading. The AC4400CW is operated by railroads from East to West and Canada to Mexico.

The Kato AC4400CW features Cab, Headlight, Inverter Cabinet, and Number Board details accurate for each prototype road name. Models have directional headlights and lighted walkwaymounted ditch lights, as well as lighted Number Boards. The models feature Kato Magnetic Knuckle Couplers, our fivepole motor with dual brass flywheels for smooth operation, and a DCCFriendly mechanism for easy dropin of a DCC decoder.

• Productized in the form after the full inspection in January 2022
• Reproduces the distinctive appearance, such as the rotating spark arrestor on the chimney, the protective fence under the cab, and the Hokkaido-shaped guide handrail on the deck
• Reproduces the car body markings (manufacturing nameplate: 1940/Kawasaki Sharyo/manufacturing No. 2333, etc.) by printing. The district nameplate is printed with "Kushiro"
• Equipped with snowplows on both the front and rear
• Dummy coupler on the front side, Arnold coupler on the rear side as standard. Comes with knuckle coupler, Arnold coupler for reverse driving, knuckle coupler, etc. for replacement
• Both the front and rear headlights light up (uses incandescent LED)
• Uses a power unit equipped with a coreless motor for stable driving
• Includes headmarks for "SL Winter Wetlands" and "SL Suzuran"
