"2001: A Space Odyssey" is a monumental science-fiction movie directed by Stanley Kubrick, originally released in April 1968. This masterpiece film uses miniatures-based special effects and innovative filming techniques to tell a tranquil and mysterious story and create a highly realistic experience. The Space Station 5, which was a relay point between the Earth and the moon, played a major part in the story of the film, and made a huge impression on moviegoers due to its partially constructed state; the effect of rotation to generate artificial gravity was so well-done that it gave the film the illusion of being a documentary rather than a work of fiction. Coupled with the soundtrack of "The Beautiful Blue Danube," this famous scene has gone down in movie history.

Moebius Model has finally released Space Station 5 to modelers worldwide, with a completely new mold! This 1/2600-scale kit features both the completed ring and the portions of the ring that are still under construction, just as seen in the movie. Even parts of the seemingly complicated truss structure that are still being completed are skillfully divided into parts for smooth assembly. A special display stand is included, as is a mode of the Orion in the same scale. Recreate this iconic scene on your own shelf!
