People don’t visit Tasmania often. It sits at the far edge of the southern world—where the wind arrives first, and everything feels a little quieter.

Dodoland has always had a soft spot for places like this. Places with less noise, where nature seems to breathe more deeply. And we’re drawn to the animals that could only belong to such untouched corners of the world.

One of them stays on our mind.

A creature that’s gone, yet still feels like it might be walking somewhere in our imagination— the Tasmanian Tiger.

Its proper name is the Thylacine. Not a tiger, and not a wolf—yet it earned the “tiger” name from the stripes along its back.

And although it looked a little like a dog, it was actually a marsupial—a truly unusual hunter that carried its young in a pouch.

They say it lived by the rhythm of the night: moving softly through the dark, saving its energy, stepping only when it needed to.

Shy, but strong—quiet, but real.

But that rhythm was lost. Records say the last thylacine died in 1936, and ever since, the word “extinct” has followed its name. Nearly a hundred years have passed, yet the story still doesn’t feel finished.

That’s why Dodoland didn’t want this model to be only a “cool animal.” We wanted it to be a small, quiet tribute— a gentle hello to a life that once belonged to Tasmania.

As you build, piece by piece, the stripes return. The long tail finds its balance. And somehow, a breath of “what once was” stays at your fingertips.

And you may feel it too: the Tasmanian Tiger isn’t only a creature of the past— it’s a story that quietly reminds us what we still need to protect.
