The Kiha 261-1000 series is a diesel express train that was introduced in 2006, and has since been added to the fleet and is now JR Hokkaido's main express train.

The Kiha 260-1300 series is an intermediate car that can be incorporated into a train set individually, allowing the number of cars in a train to be tailored to suit demand.

• Reproduced with a new paint scheme featuring white and purple stripes around the doors
