Italeri 1/35 Dodge WC54 Ambulance Model Kit

The WC54 ambulance is the ambulance version of the WC series, a 3/4 ton truck from Dodge, which began to be introduced in 1942. It is equipped with the same 78-inch 6-cylinder side-valve engine as the truck type. It is fitted with high-flotation tires to improve driving performance on rough roads, and exhibited excellent driving performance. Deliveries to the US military began in May 1942 and it was affectionately known as the "Meat Wagon". It could accommodate 4 wounded soldiers lying on stretchers or 6 soldiers sitting up. The vehicle was adopted not only by the US military but also by the British and Free French forces. More than 22,000 units were produced in the four years from 1942 to 1945.

This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Dodge WC54 Ambulance, a field ambulance developed and operated by the US military during World War II. The finished model will be approximately 140mm in length. The chassis realistically models the frame shape, the front and rear suspension, and the mechanism of the four-wheel drive shaft. The mechanical underside of the chassis is not to be missed. The body accurately reproduces the shape of the cab and the design of the rear cargo area. The rear door can be assembled in either an open or closed position. Details such as the seats inside the driver's seat and rear cargo area are also well modeled. One stretcher part is also included. The red cross marking, which gives this ambulance a unique look, is also an attractive feature.
