The Jolie Brise Ship: French Cutter

Discover the Jolie Brise , a scale wooden replica of this famous French cutter. After a short career as a pilot boat, it was used as a fishing vessel when steam engines replaced sail propulsion.

The Jolie Brise could sail at a speed of 9-10 knots. In 1925 it won the first Fastnet race , and again in 1930, among many other races.

He became famous when he rescued the crew of the Adriana in the 1932 Bermuda Ocean Race , which caught fire and was lost during the race, before being withdrawn from service.
