Trumpeter 00388 1/35 Spanish Army VRC-105 Centauro RCV

The VRC-105 is the most successful export model in the Centaur series. Initially, the Spanish Army ordered the purchase of 22 vehicles to equip the 8th Cavalry Regiment of Luis Tania. Subsequently, they showed a fervent interest in the Centaur, and in February 2002, the Spanish Army placed an additional order for 62 vehicles. The Centaur vehicles in service with Spain were designated VRC-105. Based on the needs of the Spanish Army, these vehicles underwent minor modifications: a lengthened hull, bolt-on additional armor plating on the lower front of the hull, improvements to the storage baskets and surrounding facilities behind the turret, changes to some accessories, relocation of the smoke grenade launcher, and replacement with a Spanish-made radio and antenna.
