Mirage 726077 1/72 US Light Tank M5- Tunisia 1942

The M5 tank shown in the cover picture, despite the fact that its photos have been published many times both in the press and in books, belongs to one of the less known combat vehicles of World War II. It is one of the tanks of Company A, the 70th Tank Battalion (Light) of the US Army. This armored battalion was officially brought into being ("activated") by the order of July 15, 1940 as a medium tank battalion of the 34th Infantry Regiment and the 67th Tank Regiment (Medium). Thus, it became one of the first, next to the 1st and 2nd Panzer Divisions, a unit of the American armored forces, and at the same time the first independent tank battalion, not an organic element of armored divisions.
