Roden 315 1/144 Boeing 720 Starship One

The Roden 1/144 Boeing 720 Starship One Elton John 1974 from the plastic aircraft model kits range accurately recreates the real life passenger airliner. This model requires paint and glue to complete.

Boeing 720 - passenger jet, modification of the famous transcontinental airliner Boeing 707, developed in 1959 for regional and medium-haul air flights. In total 65 aircraft were constructed, which were used mainly by American airlines. After 12 years of operation by United Airlines, the very first serial Boeing 720 was bought by actor Bobby Sherman and refurbished as a luxurious VIP jet for musical performers. The jet received its own name, Starship One, and was used from 1973 to 1977 as a musician's VIP transport. Many idols of that time - bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Moody Blues, Allman Brothers Band and singers Elton John, Peter Frampton, Sonny and Cher and John Lennon were clients of Starship One during these years. After problems with Starship One's engines it was resold to other owners, and in 1982 it was broken up at Luton Airport in the UK.
