Background information

From 1955, Lufthansa deployed the Super Constellation on its long-haul routes, primarily to North America. It formed the backbone of the airline's post-war resurgence. The "Super G" was popular for its comfort and range. The connection to this history remains strong to this day: To mark the anniversary, Lufthansa even restored a "Starliner" (the very similar successor model).
