Helpful How-To:

• Place completed puzzle face up on non-cling plastic wrap.
• Apply Puzzle Saver evenly over entire puzzle including cracks; let dry completely, approximately 15–20 minutes.
• TIP: To ensure complete coverage including cracks, drizzle or pour Mod Podge Puzzle Saver over the front of the completed puzzle. Squeegee the Puzzle Saver over the surface using a Mod Podge Squeegee filling all cracks. Allow to dry.
• Place dry puzzle face down on clean, non-cling plastic wrap.
• Repeat by applying Puzzle Saver to backside of puzzle; let dry completely.
• TIP: Additional coats can be applied for added protection.
• TIP: Once completely dry and cured, spray seal with Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer to remove stickiness

Can you paint over Mod Podge or can you mix mediums with Mod Podge?

Since it is a water-based, acrylic formula, it works well with acrylic craft paints. For best results, allow the Mod Podge to dry completely before applying paint to ensure smooth, even coverage and proper adhesion. 

Does Mod Podge work on plastic, air-dry clay, or wood?

Yes, Mod Podge works on a variety of surfaces, including wood, air-dry clay, and plastic. It adheres especially well to porous surfaces like wood and clay, while surfaces like plastic may require light sanding or proper prep to improve adhesion and ensure the best results. 

Is Mod Podge Waterproof?

Mod Podge is not waterproof, but some formulas, like Dishwasher Safe, are water-resistant once fully cured. Light moisture with the water-resistant formulas is okay, but if water sits on the surface for too long, it can cause clouding that may become permanent.

How long does it take for Mod Podge to dry or cure?

This decoupage essential is fast-drying, typically drying to the touch in about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on layer thickness and humidity. You may notice it changes from milky white to clear as it sets. It’s best to let it dry completely before handling your project or adding additional layers to ensure a smooth, durable finish. Mod Podge requires approximately 28 days to fully cure. During this time, it’s best to limit heavy handling and avoid exposure to water to allow the finish to set properly. Drying and curing times may vary depending on humidity, temperature, and the thickness of the application.

Will all Mod Podge formulas stiffen my project?

If you are looking to seal your project original formulas are great for that, however if you want to harden or stiffen your surface, we recommend to use Mod Podge Stiffy or Texture Coat. Texture Coat is opaque white, so it if you are wanting clear we recommend using just Stiffy.
