B-52G STRATOFORTRESS

The B-52 Stratofortress is undoubtedly the most famous and famous long-range strategic bomber in aviation history. Produced by the American company Boeing since 1955, it has long been a symbol of the cold war and has equipped the flight departments of the US Air Force's Strategic Air Command. Produced in numerous versions, it has progressively evolved to better respond to the changed operational needs. The “G” version represented the highest point, in terms of units produced, of the “Stratofortress” project. It was delivered to the departments in the early 1960s and was characterized by decisive improvements in the aircraft cell, for an improved avionics and, essential for a strategic bomber, for an increased operational range thanks to the possibility of carrying a greater quantity of fuel and being able to adopt external tanks as well. The B-52Gs also participated in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
