The Vultee Vengeance was an American-designed dive bomber used primarily by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) during WWII. Unlike many contemporary aircraft, the Vengeance was designed specifically for dive bombing, featuring a unique wing with 0° angle of incidence to ensure perfect alignment during a vertical dive. The Mk.II variant was a production version equipped with a powerful Wright R-2600 engine. It became an indispensable weapon in the Burma Campaign, where its ability to drop bombs with surgical precision through dense jungle canopy made it a favorite of ground commanders.
