Hobby Master 1/72 MIG-21R 1501 Czech Air Force Caslav AB 1994

In 1984, the Czechoslovak Air Force operated the MiG-21R as a tactical reconnaissance aircraft within Warsaw Pact air defense and surveillance units. The MiG-21R was equipped with interchangeable reconnaissance pods carrying cameras and electronic intelligence equipment for photo and signals collection missions. Pilots trained in high speed, low level reconnaissance profiles designed to penetrate hostile airspace and gather battlefield intelligence. The aircraft retained the speed and maneuverability of the standard MiG-21 fighter while adding reconnaissance capability. During the Cold War, the MiG-21R formed an important part of Czechoslovakia's military intelligence and tactical reconnaissance capability.
