Hobby Master 1/48 FW 190A-3 White 10 Oblt Wolfgang Kosse 1./JG 5 Norway October 1942

Wolfgang Kosse flew the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A with the tactical number "White 10" while serving with 1./Jagdgeschwader 5 (JG 5) "Eismeer" on the Arctic Front during 1943-44. Operating from bases in occupied Norway and northern Finland, JG 5 defended German forces against Soviet air attacks and escorted Luftwaffe strike aircraft over the Barents Sea and the Murmansk region. Kosse's Fw 190A wore the standard Luftwaffe gray camouflage of RLM 74 Gray-Green and RLM 75 Gray-Violet over RLM 76 Light Blue, supplemented by yellow Eastern Front recognition markings beneath the engine cowling and wing tips. The aircraft carried the white "10" tactical number and the unit's distinctive Arctic theater markings, reflecting the harsh operating conditions faced by JG 5 during the defense of Germany's northern flank.
