Air Force 1 1/200 USAAF Boeing B-25

On April 18, 1942, sixteen USAAF B-25B Mitchell bombers took off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet in waters off the coast of Japan in the legendary "Doolittle Raid". Of the 80 airmen participating in the raid, only, 69 returned. The bomber got its name after General Billy Mitchell who was a pioneer of military aviation.

This is a replica of the B-25B Mitchell as flown by Lt. Col. J.H. Doolittle during the famous Doolittle Raid with co-pilot Lt. Richard Cole.
