In 1942, Krupp began developing a heavy artillery vehicle based on the Tiger tank chassis, planned to mount a 170mm cannon or a 210mm howitzer, using Tiger series engines, transmission systems, all-steel road wheels, and tracks. This vehicle had a crew of eight, weighed approximately 60 tons, had 30mm thick frontal armor, 16mm thick side armor, and a designed maximum road speed of 45 km/h. In 1945, a partially completed prototype was discovered by Allied forces in Haustenbeck, near Paderborn.
