Prefabricated soldiers - Swedish artillery of Charles XII.

Historical note: The Swedish field artillery as a branch of service was created during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) by the great military reformer, King Gustav II Adolf. Following the Dutch model, he introduced the unification of gun calibers.

Gustav II Adolf also created regimental artillery, which was supposed to operate in infantry combat formations.

The reforms have produced excellent results.

Already in the Battle of Breitenfeld (1631), the field artillery of the Swedes proved to be one of the most important factors that ensured the victory of Gustav II Adolf. Swedish guns were distinguished by excellent workmanship, especially cast iron and iron.

Christopher Polhem, a Swedish scientist and industrialist, created for them the perfect sights for that time and lifting screws for vertical aiming.
