During the 19th Century, the rural communities of Britain did not have many reliable freight transportation routes. The rural branch lines and light railways connecting small harbour and market towns was one of the only consistent and reliable ways of getting the goods around before road networks were eventually set up towards 1960.
This Hornby Western Rover model train set comes with a 0-4-0 engine and a selection of typical wagons from that time. As well as a set an oval track layout and the linseed buildings to add an aspect of realism. Additional track, accessories, wagons, and scenery can all be added on to the pack to create a realistic and complete layout.
